J. Stannard Baker Award 

The deadline for the J. Stannard Baker Award for Highway Safety is May 1, 2012!  Applications must be received in the NSA office.  Click here for your application. This law enforcement award is sponsored by NHTSA, Northwestern University Center for Public Safety, and OnStar.

Traffic Safety Unit Award

The application deadline is May 1, 2012. The same application is used for The Traffic Enforcement Safety Unit Award and the IACP/NSA Law Enforcement Challenge. For the application, click here. Please print out application and submit with package.

Officer Leadership Program

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Office of Traffic Injury Control Programs, in partnership with NSA, sponsors a cooperative program for law enforcement agencies whereby an agency can send an officer to Washington, D.C. for a one-year assignment.

Traffic Safety Committee

The Traffic Safety Committee is charged with the responsibility of studying, considering, evaluating, analyzing, and reporting on to the Executive Committee and Membership all matters of law enforcement and homeland security policy, standards, practice and procedures relating to the enforcement of traffic laws and ordinances, traffic crash investigation, emergency vehicle operations, highway traffic safety problems and programs, and all proposed legislation relating to traffic safety services affecting Sheriffs.
